Norwegian and Singaporean Companies Collaborate on Electric Harbour Craft for Singapore Port

Norwegian companies Evoy and Pascal Technologies have partnered with Singapore’s Lita Ocean and SeaTech Solutions International to develop an advanced electric high-speed passenger harbor craft tailored to Singapore’s dynamic maritime sector. The new vessel will feature cutting-edge electric propulsion and air lubrication systems designed to maximize both energy efficiency and performance, contributing to the city's goal of creating a more sustainable port ecosystem.

The project is aligned with Singapore's ambitious environmental objectives as outlined by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), which has set a mandate requiring all harbor craft to be fully electric, capable of using B100 biofuels, or compatible with net-zero fuels like hydrogen by 2030. This initiative aims to drastically reduce emissions from harbor craft operations and drive the maritime industry toward a greener future.

Evoy’s collaboration with Yinson GreenTech, a Singapore-based green technology provider, further accelerates the region’s transition to electric vessels. Under a new memorandum of understanding (MoU), the two companies will work together to convert internal combustion engine (ICE) vessels to electric power and develop new electric vessels. The partnership will play a pivotal role in advancing sustainability in the Asian maritime sector and supporting the broader shift toward environmentally friendly shipping solutions.

Mads Roland-Glimsholt, Business Development Manager at Evoy, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, "We are excited to bring our high-performance electric propulsion systems to Singapore’s maritime sector, supporting a greener future in maritime transport."

This collaboration highlights the growing importance of innovation in reshaping the maritime landscape across Asia and exemplifies the global push for greener, more sustainable shipping practices.
